Our Mission

Our mission is to save unwanted German Shepherd Dogs from death row in "kill shelters"  in San Antonio and surrounding counties in Texas.

We adopt these wonderful dogs to responsible loving, forever, indoor homes where the dog is treated as a member of the family and where they will be loved and kept safe the rest of their lives.

Blue Angel German Shepherd Dog Rescue operates under the 501(c)3 nonprofit umbrella of Rescuers United for Furry Friends, also known as RUFF.

​Our Beginnings

Dante is the reason we started Blue Angel German Shepherd Dog Rescue. We met Dante at a local vet clinic. Seeing him broke our heart. He was an 11 month old puppy that had been severely neglected by his previous owner. He was left to suffer with Demodex mange. We took him home to nurse him back to health and in a very short time fell in love with him.

​He was such an awesome, happy dog. We were blessed to have him in our lives for 7 years until he went into kidney failure. He was so grateful to us for giving him a safe loving home. Saying goodbye was one of the most heart breaking time in our lives. It is in his memory that we continue to save this magnificent breed. ​
